Good Deed of the Day (Possibly)

Jon Stewart will be paying his staff's salaries over the next two weeks out of his own pocket (or by his production company, Busboy) due to the writer's strike. He's doing this for a few reasons:

-He wants to make sure that the writers don't face any financial hardship during the strike. That's solidarity.

-He wants to make sure that the rest of his staff doesn't have to worry about being paid since the show is on hiatus until the writers' strike ends

-He is pro-union

-He is a stand up guy

His publicist has been denying that this is true, but several sources have been saying otherwise. I'm just going to hope it's true, because I would like to think that it is.

He's not only funny, he's extremely kind. Very rare in Hollywood I imagine.

You go John!

I'm going to hope that I can fly, because I'd like to believe that's true as well.

Oh Pistols, you pessimist. I will continue to pretend Jon Stewart is that kind of guy. It's the kind of fantasy that only a film like "Playing by Heart" can taint.

Great. I was hoping to cross the picket lines during the strike.

even though it seems like something he would do (based on my highly removed knwledge of him), i kinda wonder... it really does seem tru-ish though.

I am not pro-union. Not even a little bit. Just thought I'd share that here.

I don't work for him, but do you think he'd pay me too?

Why must you ruin my cynicism towards show business with stories of generosity like this?

He used to live around the corner from me! He moved though. I'm still not sure if that was anything to do with me. I mean anyone could accost you accidentally with a carrot and a pair of binoculars, surely?
